Hey look at this Conquest prelim I did AGES AGO for the cover of the Invincible NEW EDITION tpb vol. 11. I bet you thought I forgot about you, and you're right. I did forget about you. But, BUT, I also *remembered* about you and even though it's almost been a year since my last NEW EDITION tpb update, that just means you get a big ol' plateful of juicy content™ now instead of having been drip-fed over the past 11 months, so honestly I don't wanna hear any complaints. But enough with the preamble, let's get to the "good" stuff!
Robert correctly observed that Mark looked like he was dancing or like, posing in a window.
So for the final, his head was repositioned and it still looks like that anyway,
but what are you gonna do? Can't win them all.
I struggled with the cover for vol. 14 a bit, tbh.
I think we were worried the expression on Eve's face was like, bratty or shitty or
something. I don't remember, but it's ok we landed somewhere objectively "fine."
In the following images you can see the
struggle I had trying to come up with a compelling pose
for Debbie. I really liked a few of the options that featured Nolan,
but ultimately we felt it would be weird if Debbie was the only character
in the run that had to be supported by a second, more popular character on
her cover, and I'm pretty ok with what we did.
